About Me
Own Your Purpose

The founder of InspiredByVanessa is Vanessa Canteberry. Born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, she aims to break the cycle of poverty, neglect, and unnecessary hardship. Vanessa worked as a secretary in Corporate America for 20 years before being laid off in 2011.
As a single parent of three, she found it challenging to secure employment. The thought of being unable to support her son in high school and her two daughters in college was unbearable. In response, Vanessa challenged herself to change her mindset and took a stand in faith. She is now on a mission to educate individuals on transforming the W2 mindset into success in life and business.
She juggles multiple roles, including business owner, speaker, mindset coach, self-published book consultant, and ten-time best-selling author, all from the comfort of her home. Vanessa is determined to empower individuals by teaching them how to become business owners and overcome the obstacles they face. She believes that your past does not determine your destiny and encourages making what seems impossible possible.
InspiredByVanessa stands on faith and refuses to let fear diminish visions that must be seen and heard across various platforms. Vanessa teaches that you are more than a W2. She acts as the OBGYN for birthing books, including the bestselling work Shifting Your Mindset and Breaking the Cycle of Brokenness. She has co-authored several titles such as I Am More Than, Do I Not Matter, Dear Dad, Dear Mom, Dear Daughter & Son, Cries of a Broken Man, and Screams of a Broken Woman & Empowerpreneur, Healing Journey! She recently released her latest masterpiece, Keep Digging.
Inspired by Vanessa, Breaking Barriers Unapologetically emerged in response to the intense demand for learning to shatter barriers in life and business. This allows individuals to return from uncomfortable situations and rebuild their foundations.
If I can overcome the toughest battles, you can too. My books became my healing place, not knowing how many people related to my story but need guidance. Being open and transparent about the hard conversations made it less bumping for others to start sharing their stories as well.

Speaking up for the voiceless
No longer hiding behind our stories, our truth, our mission, and our purpose is nothing to take lightly. Join forces in turning up the mic volume. to be heard in the back & reassure them, We see and hear you as well, even in your voiceless season.
Uncomfortable
The more I pushed past the noise, the more people gravity to my story. My story came with a lot of traumas in which caused discomfort in disconnecting with individuals who have caused triggers. Show up matters even when you are uncomfortable.
Obedience
I took the hits so my children didn't have to. Sharing what most kept secret, opened up doors to hearing other people's stories.
Transparency and boldness for you to succeed, too.
Why i do what i love?
